Vladimir Lisin is a Russian businessman and billionaire who was born on May 7, 1956, in Ivanovo, Russia. He is the chairman of Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), one of the largest steel producers in Russia. He is also the majority shareholder of Transport Group FESCO and owns a significant stake in the Russian coal company Raspadskaya.
Lisin started his career as an engineer at the Novolipetsk Steel plant in the early 1980s. Over the years, he held various positions within the company, eventually rising to become its deputy general director in 1992.
In 1996, Lisin acquired a controlling stake in Novolipetsk Steel and became its chairman.
